Due to an accident in 1986 when I had my very first right leg reconstruction and from that time to my first knee reconstruction I have been in constant pain with his knee. On a scale of 1-10, the grinding, the grating and the pain would be around a 7 every day with really no major relief, also with an inability to walk very far.
After Dr. Nick operated on my right knee I was very tentative but was on my feet within a very short time. Apart from not being able to bend my my knee at first I was up and mobile with a walking frame, exercising the new knee. This is the secret, get out of bed and start working the joint. Receiving hospital physio instructions on how to get the knee working did well. I think Dr. Pourgiezis was suitably impressed.
After about eight days I went home and did more exercises and water therapy walking up and down the pool, as well as having physio treatment at home a couple of times arranged through the hospital.
So good was this replacement that I had the left knee done with the same results. I’ve had two major operations with limited pain associated and to my surprise very minimal scarring.
Today I am enjoying life, I can go walking including on the beach now and do just about anything I like, and you know what? I have absolutely no pain at all in both knees. What a blessing. I thank Dr. Nick Pourgiezis most profoundly I thank him for what he has done. To any future patients of his, you are lucky because I found Dr. Nick to be very helpful, trust worthy and he has good bedside manners, as well as being a good friend, with a good sense of humour.
At my request Dr. Nick Pourgiezis took photographs of my operation if he wishes to use these in his Patient Testimonial he is quite welcome.
I have also been handing out Dr. Pourgiezis business cards as I would recommend him to anyone in need of his services.
